TourTurf® GTI GreenPlex Tournament Iron + LPT Leaf Penetrant Technology is a liquid K-fertiliser with Iron and Sulphur. The iron is in the form of a triple iron source, which delivers iron to the plant in an extremely accessible form. Also contains aromatic plant extract for enhanced turf resiliency. GTI is designed to be a complete product for stunning turf green-up before tournaments and maintaining plant health throughout the year.

Combined with potassium, sulphur and additional micronutrients, this makes it a highly effective turf management tool for golf course and football pitch preparation.

The reason applying iron correctly has a ‘greening’ effect is largely due to its role in chlorophyll production – it is required in three chemical reactions that lead to chlorophyll synthesis.

Iron is an essential plant nutrient, but it is often lacking in sand-based golf greens due to never being added during the construction of the green. Even when soils contain abundant iron, most of it is not in a plant available form.

The fertiliser is only slightly acidic, which is advantageous if a turf manager is following a high microbial programme, as the pH of the growing environment will not be altered by application of the product. This separates GTI from many other iron products, which are often designed to have some level of acidification effect.
