TourTurf® Pond Relief™ is a natural, microbial (7 bacterial strains) product that effectively controls and prevents up to 85% of filamentous algae in lakes and ponds with low water flow - in a natural and environmentally friendly way. The product contains slow release oxygen donors and enzyme catalysts. Use the microbiological product to effectively prevent and control filamentous algae. The product will also control and reduce up to 50% of bottom sedimentation and sludge.
Filamentous algae can be a problem in many nutrient rich lakes, where dense mats of blanket weed may result in poor oxygen levels and starve out the lake’s beneficial plants. Lack of oxygen in the water leads to fish death, malodour and an increased release of nutrients from the lake bottom.
The presence of filamentous algae also reduces a lake’s aesthetic value and its recreational possibilities in relation to fishing, swimming and sailing.
TourTurf® Pond Relief™ has a light brown colour and a faint scent of yeast. The product contains only Class I microorganisms. These microorganisms are non-toxic and nonpathogenic and are not genetically modified. The bacteria are naturally-occurring microorganisms, including in aquaculture and pond bottom sediment.
The addition of TourTurf® OXT Oxygen enhances TourTurf® Pond Relief treatments for algae and blanketweed control. Apply 5ml/m3 OXT, diluted in water, and spread evenly over the surface. It boosts dissolved oxygen, reduces sludge, and helps prevent stagnation and eutrophication.

Naturally-occuring active and spore forming bacteria in organic-, mineral carriers. The product gives high ammonia, nitrite and phosphate control using biomass manipulation as the bacteria consumes the excess nutrients and is equally effective in fresh- and salt water. The standard usage gives medium-high denitrification, when conditions permit. Effective pH-range for use is between 5 and 9. |

Product details
When Pond Relief™ is added, microorganisms quickly spread in the water and help to absorb excess and leached out nutrients. The nutrients become bound to the microorganisms and thereby make their way into the lake’s food chain. This reduces thenutrients available for the algae, which means clearer water and less risk of algal blooms. Regular dosing with Pond Relief™ throughout the algae growth period will maintain a high biomass of microorganisms, which will restrict the level of nutrients available to the algae.
The effect of Pond Relief™ is greatest when there are good oxygen levels, as the bacteria use oxygen to break-down nutrients and organic material. It is therefore good practice to use Pond Relief™ together with aeration equipment, to ensure that the microorganisms have optimal conditions.
Pond Relief™ is a biodegradable, environmentally-friendly product that is non-toxic to humans, fish and other aquatic animals and plants.
The product is packed in clear water soluble PVA pouches which can be thrown directly into the water.
