TourTurf® BTS Biological Turf Stimulator 1-0-1 + 1% MgO
TourTurf® BTS Biological Turf Stimulator is a 100% organic soil improver for turf, consisting of very specific, concentrated plant-based ingredients. The synergistic effect promotes optimal conditions for soil microbes and plants, especially during times of heat-, drought- and disease stress (e.g. Dollar spot), supporting you to produce healthy turf all year round.
TourTurf® BTS is made of low temperature extracted Ascophyllum nodosum seaweed extract, a patented mixture of 18 plant based L-amino acids, molasses from organic sugarcane, a natural wetting agent and the TourTurf® microorganism package consisting of four different types of key soil bacteria in high concentration. It contains a broad composition of nutrients such as nitrogen, potassium, sulphur, complex and simple carbohydrates in small amounts, supplementing any deficiency.
When used regularly, TourTurf® BTS will have a great impact on the soil and provide healthy growing conditions for the plant. The soil improver promotes a healthy bacterial microflora in the soil, stimulating the existing and the added microorganisms to outcompete any soil borne turf disease causing pathogens.
TourTurf® BTS delivers a complete range of biological actives to support strong, healthy turf growth. It provides both basic and advanced nutrients, absorbed through roots and leaves, and can be used year-round in frost-free conditions. The included microbial strains are fully traceable through genomic analysis (DNA fingerprinting).

The product is also rich in seaweed hormones (Auxins, Gibberellins, Cytokinins), Betaines and bio active saponins.
BTS combines five biostimulants into one concentrated formulation with micronutrients, amino acids, plant hormones, seaweed, carbohydrates and microorganisms.
The product is formulated to enhance rooting, establishment and healthy growth of all types of sports turf. With regular use, the product allows the biological components to take control of the rhizosphere, to dominate against pathogens. As a result the grass isable to maintain a better defence mechanism, making it a healthier plant.
BTS contains complex and simple types of carbohydrates. Carbohydrates promote a healthy bacterial microflora in the soil and stimulate the added microorganisms in the product.
BTS is a dark coloured biostimulant product with a natural scent of soy.
The product contains both the basic and complex building blocks for good growth of all types of turf. Plants absorb the product through both roots and leaves, and the product can be used all year round in frost-free conditions.
Extracted from Ascophyllum nodosum (seaweed), non-GMO plant based amino acids (soy, wheat, corn), molasses (sugar beet) and Camellia sinensis.
100% plant-based material
TourTurf® BTS Biological Turf Stimulator contains both Fulvic and Salicylic acid. This will help the plant during heat and salt stress and have a positive effect on soils with a high salt content.
TourTurf® BTS Biological Turf Stimulator has a content of 4.2% patented plant-based L-amino acids (16 different) which help prevent plant stress and drought stress.Amino acids are the building blocks for plant proteins. The plant will combine amino acids to form peptide chains and later complex proteins. All the processes in the plant like tissue development, growth, recovery from injury and self-defence require proteins.The turf plant can synthesise all the needed amino acids from the mineral nutrients it takes in. But the plant can absorb amino acids through the roots as well, saving the energy to produce them itself, especially in times of plant stress.Over time, microorganisms in the rootzone will break down amino acids into their components, making nutrients readily plant available.
Plant strengthening microorganisms:
- 2% bacterial cultures divided into 4 different bacteria types
- 200 million bacteria per ml concentrate or 2 x 108 cfu per ml concentrate.
Fatty Acids:
Fatty acids are key building blocks of cell membranes, they benefit turf by enhancing its cell membrane structure and giving it structural stability.
Strong cells make turf more resistant to environmental stress like foot traffic or turf pathogens.
By improving the cell membrane structure, fatty acids can help turf retain more water, improving drought tolerance and reducing the need for frequent irrigation.Fatty acids can play a role in regulating physiological responses and help the plant to react to heat stress.
Healthy cell membranes are necessary for nutrient uptake, enabling turf to access water and nutrients more effectively.
Some research suggests that certain fatty acids could have antifungal properties, potentially helping to make the plant more resilient against certain turf diseases. Some fatty acids can function as signalling molecules, triggering the plants response to disease.
Benefits of the microorganisms:
- Bacillus subtilis: Strong facilitator of mineral uptake from soil to plant, through enhancement of plant hormone production.
- Bacillus licheniformis: Converter of organic matter from thatch into usable plant nutrients, boosting plant strength and vitality.
- Bacillus amyloliquefaciens: The microbe that contributes to a plant’s ability to resist abiotic stress, also assisting in plant water relations.
- Bacillus pumilus: Greatly assists plants to be strong and healthy.
All four bacterial strains have the Qualified Presumption of Safety (QPS) status of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA). Non-GMO material. Class 1 approved bacterial types.
