TourTurf® AFL Anti-foam Liquid is a water-soluble spray tank additive designed to prevent foam formation when mixing foaming products in all types of tanks.

Why Use TourTurf® AFL Anti-foam Liquid
Many turf maintenance products will form foam when diluted with water, particularly wetting agent products, organic products and other products that contain a surfactant. Controlling this foam can sometimes present a challenge when mixing products in the spray tank before application. Excessive foam reduces the efficiency of the spray operation. Using Anti Foam will significantly reduce the foaming effect of any turf management product and allow for much more manageable mixing procedures.

How The Product Works
TourTurf® AFL Anti-foam Liquid works by effectively destabilising and ‘breaking’ the bubble walls that are present in stable foam. When TourTurf® AFL Anti-foam Liquid is applied to a foam, it spreads through the bubble walls which causes them to thin out. This process causes the foam bubbles to spread, further reducing their thickness until eventually the bubble walls rupture due to stress. With the structure broken, the resultant effect is the quick disappearance of the foam.

Application Guidelines
TourTurf® AFL Anti-foam Liquid can be used with all types of spraying equipment, including booms, tow-behind and backpack sprayers. TourTurf® AFL Anti-foam Liquid may be used in tank mixtures of liquid fertilisers, pesticides, surfactants and any other product for which foaming is possible. For best results, add TourTurf® AFL Anti-foam Liquid to the spray mixture when the tank is half full, to prevent foam from reaching the tank opening.
