TourTurf® GTP Green Turf Paint

8704

TourTurf® GTP Green Turf Paint has been developed specifically for use on turfgrass and is designed to restore a natural green colour to discoloured or damaged turf. TourTurf® GTP is particularly effective in hot and dry conditions, when plants are often subject to drought stress, heat stress and high light intensities.

Turf appearance will be enhanced immediately after application, and for improving presentation before special events. This products colouring effect also means it can be used as an effective spray pattern indicator when tank mixed with compatible products, such as TourTurf® FDC and TourTurf® HPK (Only available outside of EU).

The pigment technology used in TourTurf® GTP effectively mimics the plants natural defence mechanisms, providing lasting protection against radiation and UV damage. This means that turf can maintain a healthy appearance during periods where colour would be negatively affected by stress.

In summer, TourTurf® GTP will help to protect plants from light intensity and UV related damage, maintaining a natural green colour in stressful conditions.

In Autumn, turf aesthetics can be maintained while the turf is not actively growing. Any damage from disease scarring can also be effectively masked.

Product details

Benefits of TourTurf® GTP Green Turf Paint:

  • Developed for use on turfgrass
  • Restores natural green colour to discoloured or damaged turf
  • Gives turf a healthy green appearance for special events
  • Safe and easy to use – non hazardous

Too much sunlight can damage plants and result in stress. The pigments used in GTP, selectively absorb, or reflect certain parts of the light spectrum, helping plants in the northern hemisphere to warm up easily in spring and help to avoid excess radiation during mid-day in summer leading to plant stress.

GTP, once fully dried on the leaf is rain fast, provides prolonged colour and helps to physically protect the turf plant from heat stress and UV damage.

  • GTP protects against heat stress and UV damage
  • GTP contains a significant amount of blue pigment, filtering out the part of the light spectrum causing plant stress
  • When subjected to direct sunlight, the turf surface is 4.2°C cooler compared with the untreated control because of a healthier plant
  • Studies shows no observable UV damage when sprayed with GTP
  • Colour aspect is vastly improved and maintained overt time

Using GTP as a spray marker:
TourTurf® GTP is a permanent colourant that can be used as a spray pattern indicator dye to reduce overlapping of spray operations to achieve accurate spraying operations required for pesticides, herbicides or iron products.Reducing overlapping operations reduces waste by overlap, or any phyto toxicity effects due to the increased application rate of product. This colourant does not fade after 24 hours like traditional spray indicators dyes and is ideal to be incorporated into tank mixes such as curative pesticide applications to help mask discolouration caused by disease scares.

  • Makes sprayed areas visibly distinct, ensuring thorough and even coverage.
  • Prevents over-application or under-application.
  • Minimises waste and saves costs by reducing excess product use.
  • Helps new applicators learn proper spraying techniques.
  • Allows for quick inspection to meet quality standards.
  • Increases productivity by avoiding re-spraying.
  • Assists in maintaining accurate treatment records.
  • Promotes environmentally responsibility by reducing usage of products.

Caution:
GTP must be washed off spray equipment immediately after spraying, as well as off all surfaces to avoid staining. Always use TourTurf® APC All Purpose Tank Cleaner to thoroughly clean nozzles, the inside and the outside of the sprayer.

Standard Decontamination procedure

  • This method is designed to be used immediately after pigments have been sprayed on turfgrass. Any contamination on the outside of spraying equipment should be removed by washing down with fresh solution of APC and water (100ml in 10L water).
  • Ensure Pigment Solution is completely emptied from the tank.
  • Fill Tank with water and add total APC required for the tank size (1L per 100L tank capacity).
  • Agitate solution through the entire system for 15 minutes, ensuring that boom end valves are open and/or bungs removed for a complete boom treatment. Close boom end valves and/or replace bungs once APC solutions freely flowing from the ends of the booms.
  • Switch off agitation and leave to stand for a further 15 minutes.
  • Completely drain cleaning solution from tank, then fill with water and agitate again.
  • Then re-drain and rinse again. *Note: If there is still any paint residue left, use a pressure wash to remove.
  • Remove all detachable parts (nozzles / filters) and leave to soak in a bucket with APC at 1% dilution. Drain bucket and rinse with water.

Full Decontamination Procedure

  • If Pigment has left major staining or soiled in the tank, then a full 24 hour decontamination wash may be required.
  • Ensure Pigment Solution is completely emptied from the tank.
  • Fill Tank with water and add total APC required for the tank size (1-2L per 100L tank capacity).
  • Agitate solution through the entire system for 15 minutes, ensuring that boom end valves are open and/or bungs removed for a complete boom treatment. Close boom end valves and/or replace bungs once APC solutions freely flowing from the ends of the booms.
  • Leave solution to stand overnight or for 24 hours.
  • Remove all detachable parts such as nozzles and filters and leave to soak overnight in bucket of 1-2%% Cleaner solution.
  • Drain solution from tank and rinse with pressure washer. Rinse detachable parts and re attach.
