TourTurf REO Respond Extreme Organic Wetting Agent
TourTurf® REO Respond® Extreme Organic Wetting Agent is the first 100% organic wetting agent from TourTurf®, approved for use in organic farming (FiBL listed). It provides a level of performance that is comparable to synthetic alternatives and superior water retention. TourTurf® REO has been verified as non-GM.
TourTurf® REO has been extensively tested in a range of field-, laboratory- and grow room-based trials. Its use has been shown to reduce the water repellency of hydrophobic soil. It also greatly enhances the rhizosphere diversity and the microbial activity within the soil. Use of the product may also improve seedling emergence rate and access to soil resources, such as water and nutrients.
The water retention achieved in the top 4cm of the rootzone is especially positive in hot, warm and extreme climatic conditions.
TourTurf® REO is a concentrated sophorolipid wetting agent. Those naturally derived glycolipids from a plant and microbial process are used to produce a natural plant-based surfactant. Sophorolipids are a class of glycolipids that are synthesized mainly by yeast species. Sophorolipids consist of a carbohydrate attached to a long-chain fatty acid by glycosidic linkage. This gives sophorolipids their powerful natural surfactant properties.

TourTurf® REO Respond® Extreme Organic Wetting Agent is our first wetting agent product to be approved for use in organic farming. It provides a level of performance that is comparable to synthetic alternatives. TourTurf® REO has also been verified as non-GM.
TourTurf® REO has been extensively tested in a range of field, laboratory and grow room-based trials. Its use has been shown to reduce the water repellency of hydrophobic soil, with comparable results to marketleading synthetic wetting agents.
Use of the product may also improve seedling emergence rate and access to soil resources, such as water and nutrients.
The product contains naturally derived glycopolids which improves penetration and infiltration of water and liquid products into the soil. It improves the water distribution in the soil and is suitable for use in amenity turf.

Fatty Acids:
Fatty acids are key building blocks of cell membranes, they benefit turf by enhancing its cell membrane structure and giving it structural stability.
Strong cells make turf more resistant to environmental stress like foot traffic or turf pathogens.
By improving the cell membrane structure, fatty acids can help turf retain more water, improving drought tolerance and reducing the need for frequent irrigation.Fatty acids can play a role in regulating physiological responses and help the plant to react to heat stress.
Healthy cell membranes are necessary for nutrient uptake, enabling turf to access water and nutrients more effectively.
Some research suggests that certain fatty acids could have antifungal properties, potentially helping to make the plant more resilient against certain turf diseases. Some fatty acids can function as signalling molecules, triggering the plants response to disease.
